BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 2. Michael
Carpenter, US Ambassador to the Group for Safety and
Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has condemned the assault on
Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran, Development stories, citing his Twitter publication.
“At right now’s OSCE assembly, we expressed our condolences to the
Azerbaijani MFA and the households of these damage and killed within the
assault on Azerbaijan’s embassy in Tehran. The US calls on Iranian
authorities to research and maintain these accountable accountable,”
he mentioned.
An armed assault came about on the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Iran
on January 27, 2023, at about 8:30 (GMT+4). The gunman turned out
to be a person in his 50’s, who drove as much as the executive
constructing, armed with a Kalashnikov computerized rifle.
Earlier stories from the Chief of Tehran police mentioned there have been
two kids within the automotive with the gunman, the safety digicam footage launched later
proved the person was alone. He entered the constructing after briefly
waving hand to the Iranian safety guard outdoors. No makes an attempt have been
made to detain the gunman, as he freely entered the embassy. The
man managed to kill head of the safety service and wounding two
embassy guards. The shooter was ultimately detained. The incident
is at present being investigated.
Following the lethal assault, Azerbaijan evacuated its officers
from the embassy, together with those that suffered because of the
assault and fully suspended the work of the embassy in
Tehran.
