Salt Lake City businesses fed up with city’s ‘hands-off’ approach as crime, homelessness worsen

Small companies within the coronary heart of Salt Lake Metropolis are battling rampant crime and homelessness, warning the town’s hands-off method is exacerbating the issue. 

Co-owner of Vape on Predominant Brett Delbridge and proprietor of Mid Metropolis Salon Teresa Bowman joined “Fox & Mates First” Tuesday to elucidate why their companies are struggling.

“It is completely simply hurting it is to the purpose the place persons are simply scared,” Delbridge informed co-host Todd Piro. “They’re scared to come back right down to Predominant Avenue the place they do not wish to are available in there, and so enterprise is slowing.”

Bowman recalled one occasion when a homeless man bathed for an hour in her salon and threw heavy metallic chairs that just about hit her staff. She mentioned police will not be cracking down as a result of metropolis leaders do not “wish to offend anybody.”

The crime surge has impacted numerous areas nationwide, with six metropolitan cities set to outpace the bloody data of 2021. 

New York Metropolis, Atlanta, Baltimore, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia have seen a surge in violent crime and are prone to surpass final 12 months’s statistics.
