We deplore yesterday’s rejection of the enchantment lodged by journalist and opposition activist Vladimir Kara-Murza and the two-month jail sentence handed down towards him, in addition to the arrest of opposition politician Ilya Yashin on June 28. Vladimir Kara-Murza can be awaiting one other trial wherein he could possibly be sentenced to as much as 15 years in jail.

These incarcerations comply with the jailing of many different authorities opponents who’ve been prosecuted by Russian courts in latest months. France is deeply troubled by the marketing campaign of repression waged by the Russian authorities towards people who find themselves important of the federal government and its warfare of aggression towards Ukraine.

We name on the Russian authorities to abide by worldwide human rights legislation and the liberty of knowledge, to launch these political prisoners and to drop the lawsuits towards them.
