The prime suspect of the current double murder at Bastian Highway, Pettah has died this (04) morning because the Police opened fireplace.
The suspect, 41, was a resident of Darga city and Elpitiya.
Primarily based on a tip-off obtained by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) that the suspect was in Gampaha, a search operation has been carried out within the space this morning, and because the Police discovered the suspect whereas travelling on a motorbike he has fired on the Police car with a T56 in his possession.
The suspect, who was severely injured within the retaliatory assault by the Police, died after being admitted to the Gampaha hospital, Police stated.
