After a two-year hiatus as a result of covid pandemic, Elizabeth Bick returns to the Pantheon in 2022 for her undertaking Each God.
The New York-based photographer Elizabeth Bick has returned to Rome’s Pantheon on 21 June, the longest day of the 12 months, to {photograph} the vacationers visiting the traditional monument.
Bick depicts her topics in theatrical poses, making dramatic use of chiaroscuro, because the Pantheon’s guests gaze upwards in awe on the oculus.
Her pictures are a part of a undertaking titled Each God, which started when Bick was a resident artist on the American Academy in Rome in the summertime of 2014.
Bick says she selected the summer season solstice to reap the benefits of the sunshine falling on guests – of various ages, cultures, races and genders – in addition to permitting her to doc “our relationship to know-how because it quickly adjustments.”
