France welcomes yesterday’s publication by the Group for Safety and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) of a second impartial specialists’ report “on Violations of Worldwide Humanitarian Legislation and Human Rights Legislation, Conflict Crimes and Crimes Towards Humanity Dedicated in Ukraine (1 April-25 June 2022)”, below the so-called Moscow Mechanism. The report was launched on the initiative of 45 international locations together with France, following Russia’s aggression towards Ukraine.
France was deeply involved to be taught of the conclusions of this report, which highlights “critical violations of IHL [international humanitarian law], attributable largely to Russian armed forces”. The offences described within the report are particularly alarming, notably with regard to allegations that the Russian Federation created “filtration centres” and centres for transferring detainees to the 2 separatist entities of Donestsk and Luhansk, the place they danger the dying penalty.
France stays resolutely dedicated alongside Ukraine, the Ukrainians, its worldwide companions and the worldwide courts to combating impunity for the perpetrators of those crimes.
