N. Korea says it conducted new underwater nuke weapon test, strategic cruise missile drill

North Korea has performed a brand new underwater nuclear strategic
weapon check and cruise missile train guided by chief Kim
Jong-un earlier this week, Pyongyang’s state media stated Friday,

The North’s Central Army Fee of the Employee’s Celebration
commanded the drills from March 21 to 23 “to be able to alert the
enemy to an precise nuclear disaster and confirm the reliability of the
nuclear pressure for self-defence,” the official Korean Central Information
Company (KCNA) stated.

The “underwater nuclear assault drone” was deployed off the coast
of Riwon County of South Hamgyong Province on Tuesday and reached
the goal level within the waters off Hongwon Bay set as a mock enemy
port with its check warhead detonating underwater on Thursday
afternoon, in keeping with the KCNA.

The drone cruised “alongside an oval and pattern-8 course at an
underwater depth of 80 to 150 meters within the East Sea of Korea for
59 hours and 12 minutes,” it added.
