Lisa Kudrow, 58, reveals she had to do an extra audition to land role of Phoebe Buffay in Friends

Lisa Kudrow needed to do an additional audition for Mates.

The 58-year-old actress – who performed Phoebe Buffay within the basic sitcom between 1994 and 2004 – admitted her path to the position was harder than her co-stars’.

That’s as a result of Mates director James Burrows was not instantly satisfied by her.

Explaining that Burrows had beforehand fired her from the position of Roz in Frasier after the pilot episode wrapped in 1993, Lisa mentioned: ‘I used to be solid in Frasier as Roz, mistakenly solid. I did not know that on the time. 

‘I knew that Jim clocked that I used to be fallacious from the desk learn and so I believed, “Oh he does not like me or what I do.”‘

She added, ‘So then we’re doing Mates and I needed to do a particular audition for Jim Burrows. You need to do auditions for producers and studio, community however in between all of that, I needed to go in and browse for Jim Burrows.
