Mangaluru: A landslide on the third hairpin curve from the Someshwara aspect on Agumbe Ghat street following heavy rains on Sunday morning disrupted vehicular visitors on the route, official sources mentioned.
The landslip occurred on the 4th and tenth curve within the ghat part, bringing down timber, stones, and dirt on the street.
The vehicular disruption is on Nationwide Freeway 169A, connecting Udupi and Shivamogga districts.
The work on clearing the street has been taken up by the Forest division and Nationwide Freeway Authority of India (NHAI) personnel. “Groups have been deployed to clear the street. The street is predicted to be prepared for visitors by night,” tahsildar Purandara Okay informed Deccan Chronicle.
Police are diverting the visitors on the ghat part. Autos shifting from Shivamogga to Udupi are being diverted to the Siddapura route. Autos are being stopped on the Agumbe ghat test put up and on the Someshwar test put up and drivers informed to take alternate routes.
