A 30-year-old man, who had kidnapped a toddler and brought the ransom by way of UPI on his cell pockets, has been arrested by the Noida Police who used his digital footprints to hint him, officers mentioned on Monday.

The six-year-old boy who was kidnapped and brought to Gurugram has been recovered safely and reunited along with his household, in response to the police.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) Anil Kumar Yadav mentioned the boy was picked up from Naya Bans village, underneath Section 2 police station limits, final week and an FIR was lodged underneath the Indian Penal Code part 364A (kidnapping for ransom) after the household approached them with a grievance.

The boy had gone lacking on June 22 and was discovered sitting on a bench close to the NSEZ metro station on June 23 after the kidnapper launched him submit a cost of Rs 30,000 by the kid’s household, police mentioned.

“On Sunday, he got here to the Botanical Backyard metro station and our groups who had saved a watch on him reached the spot in civil garments and nabbed him. We had already procured {a photograph} of the kidnapper from the Jan Seva Kendra. Another factor that helped us affirm his identification was his t-shirt – which has the phrase ‘RESPECT’ written on its entrance. It was the identical t-shirt he wore earlier,” Yadav mentioned.

The police later recognized the kidnapper as Barun, a local of Hardoi district and present resident of Naya Bans village in Noida.

The accused has been discovered engaged in legal actions since 2017 and has been allegedly concerned in bike thefts whereas the same case of kidnapping was lodged towards him in 2021 on the DLF Section 3 police station in Gurugram, the police mentioned.

The ransom quantity of Rs 30,000 has been recovered from him and his cell phone seized, the police mentioned, including the accused was produced earlier than a neighborhood court docket and has been remanded in judicial custody.
