Ischia wins first place in annual Journey + Leisure survey.
Ischia has been named greatest island on the planet by readers of the American journal Journey + Leisure within the 2022 version of The World’s Finest Awards, the annual worldwide survey for prime tourism locations.
Readers are requested to charge islands in line with their actions and sights, pure points of interest and seashores, meals, friendliness and total worth, with Ischia claiming the highest spot with a rating of 94.61.
The survey cites Ischia’s one-hour proximity to Naples and says there was renewed worldwide concentrate on the Italian island after it featured prominently in Elena Ferrante’s novel My Good Good friend which was tailored right into a HBO sequence.
Journey + Leisure readers have been enamoured by Ischia‘s “picturesque villages, thermal springs, and unspoiled seashores, which embody Le Fumarole and its geothermally heated sand”.
Luca D’Ambra, president of Ischia’s lodge federation Federalberghi, instructed information company ANSA that “these are the awards that make us proud and permit us to current our island to the entire world adequately”, hailing Journey + Leisure as “an indicator for international travellers”.
Within the 2022 prime 10 rankings of greatest islands, Ischia is folllowed by the Maldives, Bali, Mìlos, Fiji, the Galapagos, Phuket, Dominica, Boracay and Cape Breton.
