Colbert employees detained at Capitol after lawmaker interviews, charged with ‘illegal entry’

Date:

Seven employees members of “The Late Present With Stephen Colbert” had been charged with illegal entry after being detained by U.S. Capitol Police following interviews with congressional lawmakers for a section with Triumph the Insult Comedian Canine.

The manufacturing crew was on the Capitol Wednesday and Thursday recording the section, in line with CBS. The interviews had been “licensed and pre-arranged” with the lawmakers being interviewed and their congressional aides.

“After leaving the members’ places of work on their final interview of the day, the manufacturing crew stayed to movie stand-ups and different ultimate comedy components within the halls once they had been detained by Capitol Police,” the community mentioned in an announcement.
