U.S. Senate Majority Chief Chuck Schumer, probably the most senior Democrat within the chamber, has examined optimistic for the coronavirus and has very delicate signs, a spokesperson mentioned on Sunday.

“The Chief is absolutely vaccinated and double boosted, and has very delicate signs,” the assertion mentioned. “In step with the CDC steerage, Chief Schumer will quarantine this week and work remotely.”

The Senate, which is cut up evenly between the Democrats and Republicans with the Vice President casting a tie-breaking vote when wanted, is because of return on Monday following a two-week recess.
