It was 12 years ago this month that Australian icon Steve “The Crocodile Hunter” Irwin was killed by a stingray on the Great Barrier Reef in far north Queensland.

This week, his son Robert, now 14 years old, starred on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show and reminded us how much we missed the Croc Hunter.

Robert, donning the same khakis, blonde mop and authentic Aussie charisma as his father, was on the show to promote his family’s new program “Crikey! It’s The Irwins” set to air on Animal Planet next month.

During the show he revealed a number of animals to Fallon, the audience and to fellow special guest comedian Kevin Hart — who is terrified of animals.

Despite the chaos, Irwin showed he’d learned the true class and spirit that his dad possessed and the reason why he became loved by all.
