Peso rallies with new U.S.-Mexico trade deal reportedly near fruition

The Mexican peso gained ground Monday ahead of an announcement regarding trade by President Donald Trump as negotiators from Mexico and the U.S. work on details of a bilateral agreement on reworking the North American Free Trade Agreement. The White House said Trump would make an announcement at 11 a.m. Eastern. Earlier Monday morning, Trump, , said: "A big deal looking good with Mexico!" The U.S. dollar fetched 18.676 pesos down 1.3% on the day, according to FactSet, and near the lowest since Aug. 9.
