Niger – Joint visit by Catherine Colonna and Sébastien Lecornu (15 Jul. 2022)

Minister for Europe and International Affairs Catherine Colonna will journey to Niger on July 15 with Minister for the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu.

That is the 2 ministers’ first joint go to to Niger, a rustic with which France has an in depth, trust-based partnership. The primary objective of this go to is to reveal France’s solidarity and readiness to reply to requests from Niger referring to humanitarian support, assist for concrete initiatives that help younger individuals and increase employment, and backing for the Nigerien armed forces within the battle towards terrorism.

The ministers might be hosted by President Mohamed Bazoum and can meet with their counterparts, Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation Hassoumi Massaoudou and Minister of Nationwide Protection Alkassoum Indatou.

Ms. Colonna and Mr. Lecornu will go to a healthcare facility that receives help from the United Nations Meals and Agriculture Group (FAO), the World Meals Programme (WFP) and the United Nations Youngsters’s Fund (UNICEF) to fight meals insecurity, with French assist.

Ms. Colonna may also meet with the French neighborhood in Niger for a dialogue with our fellow residents.
