Neil Simon, renowned Jewish playwright, passes away at 91

Famed Jewish playwright Neil Simon passed away Sunday at the age of 91.

Simon was a prolific playwright and author with numerous successful plays and screenplays to his name, including Barefoot in the Park; Promises, Promises; and The Out-of-Towners.

A Pulitzer Prize winner, he also received three Tony Awards, a Golden Globe Award, the Kennedy Center Honor and numerous other accolades.

The Neil Simon Theatre in New York was named after him in 1983.
