Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is to attend Mikhail Gorbachev’s funeral in Moscow, the federal government in Budapest stated.

“Orbán travels to Moscow this morning to pay his respects to the late Mikhail Gorbachev,” authorities spokesperson Zoltán Kovács stated on Twitter on Saturday. Orbán’s delegation contains MEP Tamás Deutsch, he stated.

Orbán is not scheduled to fulfill with Russian President Vladimir Putin, a spokesperson for the Kremlin stated, in keeping with reviews

Gorbachev, the final Soviet chief, died on Tuesday on the age of 91 after a protracted sickness. He’s not receiving a state funeral.

A Kremlin spokesperson stated beforehand that Putin wouldn’t attend the funeral as his schedule didn’t permit him to be current.
