A North Carolina man and his five-year-old son had been killed when a suspected impaired motorist drove into oncoming visitors and collided with a golf cart.

The collision occurred June 13 close to Statesville when the Honda Accord crossed the centre line of the highway and struck the golf cart, which was travelling in the other way, WSOC reported.
Michael Shane Marlowe, 39, who was driving the golf cart, and his five-year-old son, Bentley, died on the scene.
