EU plans to implement new initiative in agri-food sector of Uzbekistan (Exclusive)

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 14. EU plans to
implement a Group Europe Initiative (TEI) – Help to a contemporary and
sustainable agri-food sector and resilient rural livelihoods within the
coming years in Uzbekistan, Improvement Program Supervisor at
Delegation of the European Union to Uzbekistan Danuta El Ghuff advised
Pattern.

“Along with the EU, taking part European actors on this
TEI are indicatively: France (AFD), Germany (GIZ and KfW), EIB and
EBRD. The TEI’s strategy combines a variety of modalities to
strengthen coverage and institutional capability, increase monetary
help to each non-public and public funding, and safe entry to
European expertise and experience,” she mentioned.

El Ghuff additionally spoke concerning the EU Multi-year Indicative Program
(MIP) 2021-2027 for Uzbekistan, which covers the agri-food sector
as effectively.

In accordance with her, the aims of the MIP are to enhance the
agri-food coverage framework and public providers; to extend rural
livelihood alternatives, first rate jobs, and entry to markets, with
a concentrate on probably the most weak (smallholders, MSMEs, youth, ladies,
