EU leaders will threaten to impose contemporary sanctions on Belarus if it continues to assist Russia’s warfare in Ukraine, in accordance with draft conclusions of this week’s summit. Leaders will urge Minsk “to cease enabling the Russian warfare of aggression” and say Europe “stays prepared to maneuver shortly with additional sanctions in opposition to Belarus if wanted.” Russia is planning to station 9,000 troopers in Belarus and shortly maintain joint live-free army drills.
