China pleads U.S. to correct its view on China-El Salvador relations

BEIJING, – China‘s foreign ministry on Friday urged the United States to view correctly its establishment of diplomatic relations with El Salvador, after the White House criticized the move.

Ministry spokesman Lu Kang made the comment at a daily news briefing in Beijing.

El Salvador this week ended what had been long-standing ties with Taiwan in favor of China.

Taiwan‘s presidential office expressed thanks to the United States on Friday for "speaking out for justice."
